IN the Swing of things

Above is Gabby's postcard for the contest and below is Syd's. They both did a great job. I hope they both win or both lose. I would hate for one to get it and the other not to. But we will see what happens. Syd is more competitive than Gabby is. Me as their mom they both did great and should win. If they do than we will make a trip to Plains, Georgia again.

Now that the girls have both gotten used to being back at school things are starting to slow down a bit. They are both loving gymnastics and doing well. They both are starting back at Karate in two weeks, Gabby to earn her orange strip belt and Sydney to earn her green belt. (I do wish they would quit kicking me).

Both have decided to do the Plains, Peanuts, and a President contest. This is the one Sydney took third in last year and got to meet President Carter. Sydney has finished her postcard and is having it entered this week by her teacher. Gabby is almost done and will do the same, Sydney's is up top not a bad job for a six year old. Gabby has to finish coloring hers and than it will be posted.

Here is the web site http://www.jimmycarter.info/spotlight_1.html where Sydney's from last year is posted.

Orange Belt

Getting her orange belt was so exciting for her. Sorry no photos of gymnastics. They do not let you take photos in the training gym. Otherwise you know you would have some..

After her test she spoke with the two instructors about her karate test

Never give little ones your camera..

Completing a jumping front kick. She did really well on her kicks.

Look at the serious face.... She means business.
School is keeping us all pretty busy. Gabby is doing really well in kindergarten. She has been learning a lot and keeping up with everything. Sydney is Sydney, wish I liked school as much when I was a kid as she does. She did really well today on her reading test today.

Sydney tested for her orange belt this past week and is now a full fledged Orange Belt. She was so excited. Gabby did not test for her orange stripe because she thinks she wants to give it up. We will see. Both girls are taking gymnastics and getting much better at it. Sydney can almost do a complete split. Gabby could do that already but is getting better at her balance on the balance beam.

I am half way done with my specialist degree which is nice. I plan to be done by the end of April. This will be nice to have that under my belt.

Both girls are entering the Plains, Peanuts, and a President contest this year. Gabby was so excited about trying to do what big sis has done. I am not planning on another trip to Plains, GA can't see Syd placing two years in a row, Gabby's card is pretty good for a little one

Time to go and get my stuff ready for work.

The girls first days of school

Gabby with her Hannah Montana bookbag. She was so excited the first day of school.

Big 1st grader playing on the computer and happy to be back at school

Gabby waiting on the bus with momma, she was nervous the first day since Lucus and Brianna did not ride the bus. She did great.

After school waiting on Ms. Jennifer and G to finish up the kids get to hang out in their rooms and chill. As you can tell Syd really relaxes shoes off and everything.

Gabby on July 31st her first day of school at Youth Elementary. She gets up with me at 515 and takes the bus from my school. But she gets to ride the bus with Lucus and Brianna

Sydney and Eli on the first days of school. They are in the same class this year. This is nice since they have been friends since they were one and a half.

Both girls are doing well so far at school. They are busy little ones taking gymnastics on Mondays and finishing up their Karate lessons on Tuesday and Thursday. Sydney will be testing for her Orange belt this Thursday and if Gabby tests she will be going for her orange stripe.
Hope everyone is doing well.

Busy getting back into school

Both Girls have started school and are doing well. Gabby was a bit nervous but she is in her third week of school and enjoys it. Sydney has only been back a week and is still getting used to the schedule.
The whole family is adjusting back to being in school. I will attach photos of the girls for their first day of school later. (in other words my camera with the photos is not around).

Hope everyone is doing well.
