Saturday fun

The Shiloh All-stars had a game today at 1030am. Though they lost (played Mill Creek one of the best teams around) Sydney had a great game. She got on base three for three and had some outstanding plays in the field. I had to miss this great performance since I had to sit in class all day. I can't complain to much we are only meeting one day, once a month but still I like the online classes better.

Below is the video Syd and Gabby did for ICarly. Syd wanted me to send it to ICarly.com. But I could not get it to upload.

No slowing down

Mom time to go back up again

Syd and Gab went all the way up to the fourth floor and rode the slides down.

We went down to see the rock and goof off

The Girls and I went to Stone Mountain today. The first in many we will go this summer and winter. They rode the train, saw the 4D movie, played in the Barn, and had fun with mom day. Here are some photos of the rug rats.

Picture

I have had several responses and questions as to why I do not have many if any photos of myself on the blog... Let' s see , we can look at two beautiful children or one older,on the heavy side adult.... HUMMMMMMM I pick the children. But to satisfy some of my friends and family here is my school photo from this year. Yes, I still like to wear black. The L of course is for Loganville High School. Who would have ever thought I would be a high school teacher. God has a way of helping us to find out where we are supposed to be in this world. Last night at the high school graduation I realized that what I am doing does make a difference to some students. One of the first students I ever taught in 7th grade walked across the stage and received his diploma. It was nice to see that happen. We had to march and wear black gowns and our master's hoods if we have them. Mine of course was orange and blue.. AU. It was also amazing to see that approximately 90% of the teachers have their masters. Great group of educators.
The school year has gone faster than one can imagine. The kids are having a blast with their time off. We have lots of fun activities planned for them. Sydney has taken it upon herself to set up a calendar of lessons she will teach her sister. Gabby is really excited about Sydney being her teacher. Here are some of our plans for the summer:
Sydney has three all-star tournments to play in (please come watch is you are around, she would love it) I will post the schedule as soon as I get it. And yes I am coaching
Gabby is going to be the cheerleader for the softball team
I have school one weekend a month (not so much fun)
The girls are going to see Narnia
We are spending a week in Panama City with family
Stone Mountain
Atlanta Zoo
Three Wednesday Dollar movie Mornings
Sydney is spending two weeks at Gigi and Papa's house and will be enrolled in the Springer Opera house Junior drama program, while G and Syd are there, Gabby and I are going to spend some time at Stone Mountain and the zoo together. We will also take a trip to Columbus to catch up with the rest of the family. I hope Gigi and Papa realized what they are in for. One hyper red head mixed with drama......
We will be harvesting our garden, so get ready for some food. The tomatoes are already coming up, everthing else looks good. The corn is doing great. If it works I will do corn again. Everyone likes corn..
I have a struggle reader semanar to go to in July (not mandatory but will help me be a better teacher)
Than for me I am back to work in July (25th). I have been told I will be teaching two classes and than one block I will be over the consultative students, and planning. Not a bad schedule.
AND THE BEST FOR LAST LOTS OF DOWN TIME IN THE BACKYARD. G HAS MADE IT A REMARKABLE PLAY LAND FOR US. Swings, gardens, seating areas, trampoline for the kids, pool, and open play area with the deck I built and hope stays up... So if your in the area stop by for some grilled food and talk time..
Time goes so fast.
For those of you who are praying people please keep the following in your prayers:
Ms. Jordan's son who is in Iraq for the second time
Rebeca a teacher friend who had a really bad car accident and lost her 15 month old grandchild in the accident.
Our church
Our friend J who is having some family stresses
My friend Katie who just found out she is being transferred to another school due to budget issues

School is over for the kids

Not the same child from April 2006 in Guatemala with momma to May 2008. This child has come a long way in only two years. The top photo was our last day in Guatemala the morning we left to come come we went to Cameraros (sp) Gabby ate breakfast I was still getting over the food poisioning. The second photo was when Mike, Gabby, and I took a tour of Guatemala City.
Any now the happy Pre-K graduate.. What a smile. A very beautiful little girl I know I am bias
Today was the last day of school for Gabby and Syndey. Gabby had her little Pre-K graduation which we all went to. Than we took her out to lunch and went back to work. She got to go with momma and play in my classroom with my students. Pictures will be posted later I left the camera in the car and don't feel like going to get it. Gabby got to see coach Staebell at my school and got a snow cone from the softball teams snow cone sale. I have attached her graduation photo from school. The ones of the small ceremony will be added later.

Sydney finished up her Kindergarten year as the top student in Kindergarten (pretty impressive since there were 235 Kindergarten students). We have made a family decision to leave her at Magill because the gifted teacher wants to test her as soon as the year starts and if we move her to Youth with Gabby they will not do it till the ITBS test is given. By then she will be half way through 1st grade and her Kindergarten teacher said she is already half way through with the 1st grade curriculum. So she will stay at Magill and if she tests well will be served through the gifted program. She is a real sponge when it comes to knowledge. I have never known a kid to want to read and learn all the time. Especially since I was happy to get a 65 or higher (65 was a D and passing back than). If it had not been for sports I don't know if I would have made it through school. As for school I am in the middle of my second set of classes for my EDS and love one of my classes the other I could do without. I would love to finish by next April. If all goes well I may continue and get my ED.D. We will see.

First All-Star Practice

Sydney had her first all-star practice tonight and half way through we had to cancel it because of a tornado warning. So we are at home and Sydney wants to spend the night in the bathroom since that is what she learned to do about tornados.
Gabby was a great supportive sister at practice. We have Gabby's preschool graduation tomorrow so I will send pictures later.
Got to run the weather is getting pretty bad and I want to get off the computer.

A big week for the girls

The Beautiful dancers got some flowers after they performed
Than when they went home and undid their hair...What a look

Gabby's got some wild hair with all that hairspray and stuff

But she was a beautiful dancer

Ms. Ham loved the stage

The opening act was lots of fun. All the dancers performed

They got to wear top hats that had Minnie Mouse on it

At her school party.. Yea I am bad

Look at me. Number one reader in Kindergarten.

What a week for the girls. The school year is coming to an end. It is hard to believe Sydney has finished her first year of school and Gabby Pre-K. They are both excited about the summer and the end of all their spring activities. Tonight the girls had their dance recital and it was great. They did so well and both just love being on stage. This morning Sydney was honored at school as the number 1 reader in Kindergarten. She received a certificate, a gift card to Boards books, and got to be on tv again. She also had her school end of the year party today. Gabby's party is on the 21st and she will graduate to Kindergarten. I am going to take a half day to go celebrate with her. I do not finish up with students till Friday but that is cool.

Tomorrow is the last softball game or so we thought. The Lenor Park team has asked Sydney to come play All-Stars with them. We are not sure yet but she may play. It depends on vacation.

Well as always here are some photos of the kids. Enjoy.

Sydney and Gabby in teh pool and YEs it is warm enough.
What a great day. I have 12 days left of school, the rest of the family has 10 days. This school year is approaching an end very quickly. I will stay with the high school and G with elementary school. The girls will be attending the same school next year and are both very excited. They will be the YES Yellow Jackets (which is funny they both are deathly afraid of bees).

The teacher next door to me Cindy got teacher of the year for LHS, well deserving and I feel very honored to not only work with her but I was one of her last four choices for her teacher of the year candidate. She and I work very closely with each other since we both deal with kids who struggle and our big emphasis is on reading.

Some great news for my family tonight. My friend Cory from Auburn emailed me and is now working in the Atlanta area, his beautiful family will be moving down from TN shortly. He came out for dinner tonight and got to meet the two wild children who were on their best behavior (most of the time) It was truly great to see him and the six years we have been apart just vanished with the exception we are older. Life is good....

The girls had one admirer come just to see them dance. They have known Brady for over two years. They usually swim at the pool with him and they have play dates. So he came to watch them dance and stayed after his ball game yesterday he stayed and watched them play ball. He has a little crush on Gabriella
The girls did great at their dance

They look like little angels (NOT)

Getting ready for the dance.

Here are the four little ones, Sydney, Gabby, Ansley (who you may have met at Gabby's birthday party) and Natale

Before the dance they thought it would be nice to sit on Momma's car..

The pose

The girls got to participate in Snellville Days today. Last year they got to ride the church float this year their dance studio participated and the littlest group went first and that would include my babies. They danced to the Bippity bobbity boo from Cinderella.
