1st ALL-STAR GAME

Not quite what we had wanted as a final score but we did not play our best and Loganville was pretty good. Sydney missed one hit to the outfield but it took a wicked hop off the grass and I am just happy it did not hit her in the head. The bottom pic is the pre-game chat in right field. G and I made signs for the field Go South and one with their names. We also put balloons around the field area blue and silver. Sydney played left center and you can see her in the photo standing there. I was the left side coach during play and pitcher when we batted. Emma one of our friends from church and an all-star in the 12-14 year olds came and watched Syd for a bit. She would kill me if she knew I posted that photo. Ginger and Brenda we the dug out moms. They did a great job getting the girls ready to bat and get on the field. Gabby sat in the stands with Jennifer and her family who came to watch Sydney play. Gabby got her new team support shirt with her sister's name on the back to wear in support of her. Over all it was a good game. They play again Saturday at 430 pm at South. Maybe we will do better then.

Sydney's First Softball tour.

Sydney played her first practice game against Grayson tonight. They won by one run. Sydney had several good hits. My favorite was the grounder she hit to third base. As a left hander that is a great hit for anyone. She played very well. The first Tourn. is at home "South Gwinnett" May 31-June 3. First game is Thursday night at 630 at South. Then we either play June 1 at 9am if we win or 430pm if we loose. I guess since I added the schedule you can see for yourself when she plays. I have underlined the games we will play if we win and lose. Wish her luck. G is one of the dugout moms. They have to keep the girls motivated, ready to bat, in the correct batting order, and get their gloves when it is time to hit the field. I would much rather coach it is eaiser. Gabby is our number one cheerleader and loves to watch her sister play.

Memorial Day

We hope that you guys had a great Memorial Day and kept in mind those who served in the past as well as the present. I always think of my Uncle Leonard around this time of the year. Since he served in WWII. We had a pleasant day. I took four of the all -stars out for batting practice. They hit balls for about an hour. It was very productive. Then this afternoon we went to the pool and the beach at the lake. I have to help monitor the area for people without passes since I am a member of the Norris Lake Security. I kicked about a dozen people off the beach area.

The kids had a blast as you can see from the photos. Gabby was a bit skidish. Sydney had no problems flying down the slide. After we got home be cooked out on the grill. So it has been a wonderful day. Spending time with my family is what life is about. I am truly blessed.

Summer time

Summer Time for the Reids

Since summer vacation started Friday the girls are already in full swing with summer time fun. Sydney had all-star practice Thursday, Friday, and Sat. We are also meeting Monday for batting practice and work on her swing speed. They had Sydney "Smiley" a teammate over after practice yesterday and they went to the lake to play in the water.

They went back to the lake and pool today and I started my vol. work as a Norris Lake Security officer. I Kicked several people off the beach who did not belong.
Sydney's first practice game is Tuesday and her first tournment starts Thursday.

Gabby is taking a break from dance this summer because we will miss to many dance practices with our vacation plans.

Hope you guys all have a fun summer. G is as always working on the yard. The kids and I made a veggie garden. So we can't wait to eat our work.
For those of you who knew that Fiona was attacked by a dog last month. She is doing fine the hole in her sinus cavity appears to have closed up and she is acting as normal as ever. She goes this week for her second set of shots and they will look at her injury again. The doctor did say that she might have some issues as she gets older due to the damage going all the way into her sinus cavity. But, for now she is fine. She is growing but will in no way be anywhere as big as Q. I guess the Bassett-hound keeps the lab. part in check. She is a wonderful pup and got those who really know G she is actually attached to this pup...

Sydney's Pre-K Graduation

Sydney had her Pre-K Graduation today at Brisco Park. They played, ate, and spent some time with their classes. There were three classes. Here are some of Sydney's photos. She received her certificate from her teachers, Ms. Deb and Ms. Sherry. Sydney and Arlene have been friends for over 3 years. (girl with dark hair). Sydney and Madison ate apples and lots of other food. Gabby got to go and was very proud of her big sister.

Gabby's first dance recital

Our first number was Top Hat, White Tie, and Tails. Every dancer has the white shirt and tie. Then the little ones (Gabby's group) did a dance called the lollipop Medley. Sister Sydney supported her sister by coming and yelling for Gabby during the finale.

Gabby was just beaming.

The kids

Here are my babies and their special areas as of today. Sydney just received her first trophy and Gabby is about to perform in her first dance recital. They are both great kids. I am very lucky.

First Blog Post

I was sitting around tonight thinking about all my friends and family who do not get to see me much. I know I send emails but thought this might be a way to keep up to date with a lot of people all at once. So I decided to start a blog like the one I have for the youth group to keep you up to date on our lives.

Please feel free to write and add to this blog. We would love to hear from you.

Love June
